I have 2 Wndows versions installed on 2 different partitions on the hard drive. What is the "cleaner" way to remove the version that is not installed on the primary partition and make sure that my computer feels that there is only one operating system installed?

While on the partition you want to keep.. go to Administrator tools, computer management, storage, disk amnagement, and format the partition you want to erase.

There is no "relation" between the OS. however since they are both Win system you should be able to see both partitions from either system.

The best way to remove a OS since they are both Win is to delete the partition that you do not want. however keep in mind that your partition manager may not like that. (Since you have not mentioned which OS you want to keep and in which partition is located)

A better way but more complicated is to access a promt (DOS) window an use fdisk to remove the unwanted partition you have to remember to set the remaining partition as active. Do this at your own risk. and read carefully each step of the procedure.

If your running Windows XP/2000 then you can simply delete the other version on the other partition and then modify the BOOT.INI so the bootloder will only see one OS and youll be good to go. You can modify the BOOT.INI from the system properties advanced tab and then startup and recovery button.

sure. deploy the working structures in separate drives for risk-free practices. while you're setting up residing house windows variations, deploy the decrease one first. ie; for xp and seven, deploy xp first. setting up diverse os does not impression any overall performance subject concerns. As one os is thoroughly ineffective once you r utilising the different. So bypass forward.. cheers..
