I LOVE YOU MERLE BUT....I'm going with KING GEORGE on this one..i like Merle's a lot , but george strait just does a little more for me..could be the GREAT VIDEO messing with my head too!

George is great,but his version over does it with the horns and the tempo drags. His voice sounds like he was full of tequila.
Haggards version is the best

They both are very good, however, I like personally the one done by George Strait.

I like George Straits version the best. I never really cared for that song until he remade it. I love his storytelling ability and his smooth voice. It truely is a wonderful story and I love what the song says.

Even though the video is a little campy. I'm voting for one of the few actual country artists, George Strait.
He really lives the ranching and rodeo lifestyle, as did Chris LeDoux.
I hear so-called "country" artists who don't even put a hat on, and I laugh kind of low and short like finding out you washed a pen in the washing machine.
