Do you think it would be any harder to start a business with no high school?

I'm thinking of dropping out to pursue my dream. Please don't reply if your one of those school huggers that think high school is the only way.

I feel high school is a waste of time and serves no purpose. It actually forces you not to be creative. I don't plan on going to college so...

Stick it out. Not everything in life is fun or "encourages creativity."

We think school is the only way because experience has shown us that it is. Stay in school, pursue your dream when you graduate, like the rest of the world.

I am not a high school hugger, but will give you some free advice if you are willing to consider it... I graduated many, many years ago, and do not believe to this day that a high school education gave me much to work with... Mostly useless information, nothing really relevant to my day-to-day needs... If one is college minded, though, it is absolutely necessary ...I wasn't, draft days, you know...The thing is, a lot of people and organizations attach a lot of value to it...I think they believe that if you weren't willing to put out the effort to graduate, how can they be assured that you will put forth an earnest effort to succeed otherwise ??? Or on a more personal level, are you SMART enough ??? We own and operate a small business, and it is tough these days to be competitive and survive, let alone glean a decent profit margin.... Unless you are already financially independent, anyway... But , if you notice, rich kids ALWAYS get a college education regardless... They know knowledge is power, and they intend to take advantage of that fact...There are costs I am sure you have not even considered, or thought of... Please take a little time and research your business interests, and consider the costs of a business start-up. I certainly wish you the best, the world needs more independent entrepreneurs with good ideas, but just remember it takes a lot of skills to be successful. You really owe it to yourself to complete high school, and take advantage of all the training you can get, especially where computers are concerned.. It will be valuable to you later... Just my opinion, but you should know the world is harsh and unforgiving... especially where finance & business is involved... Knowledge is power, whether you believe it or not..........I wish you the best of luck.....

while the way high school presents "education" might not float your boat, be prepared to continue "educating yourself always.

without the proper knowledge of what you are doing...you will fail. ..with it, you will succeed regardless of your pedigree education.

I would encourage you to learn all you can about marketing.

Understand that marketing is not just advertising. Advertising is only a process within marketing.

Marketing is the art of getting and keeping customers...and that just happens to also be the one and only purpose of every business on the face of the planet.

so, marketing is very important obviously.

Understand that marketing is happening at any and all points where anything representing your company comes in contact with a customer. This includes printed material, and media of course..but it also includes You, and your employees.

So, if you learn what it takes to be effective at every point of contact. you will be the kind of business owner that has great employees giving great customer service, you will have outstanding marketing material, processes and strategies for bringing in and keeping customers.

and you will have made yourself the kind of business owner that 9 out of 10 are not...which is why you will be able to run circles around your competition.

If you cant make it through high school you have little chance in the business world. You have much to learn at this point in your life. Without knowing more of your plan there is no reason why you might not be able to do both.
