There are code and reliability issues with flat electrical wiring, sometimes called "pancake" or "undercarpet" wiring. For these reasons, most manufacturers quit making this type of wiring. However, there is one manufacturer who still does. Tyco Electronics makes 120-volt wiring such as this. I would not recommend using this wiring under any kind of flooring since insulation abrasion and erosion are usually the cause of failures in this type of cabling. Behind baseboards should be o.k. You'll have to buy special connectors so that it works with existing wiring.

The only other people I know who made this type of wiring was Hubbell. When I talked to them last, they said they didn't sell enough of it to keep making it. I just checked Tycoelectronics.com and didn't see it, but maybe I wasn't looking hard enough. I'm not sure if they still make it.

flat co-ax cable would be an oxymoron, however there is flat twinlead. U need to know that twinlead is more likely to have interference problems though.
electrical cable usually has 3 conductors so it is naturally kind of oval shaped
people typically "hide" these behind baseboard or in the space below the baseboard if they have wall to wall
