My assighment says: The reviewer should be able to explain what parts of the book plot, characters, writing style...ETC....[but my question is....what is writing style????]

I asked around and no one knows!!!!

Writing style is basically what the name suggest, the way the author writes. In first person, second person or third person. Writing formally or informally (like using slang). Writing style can also to the use of diction or word choice as well as tone.

Word selection, tone, sentence structure, rhyrhm of the language, figures of speech, punctuation, character development, etc. all come into play. It is how the author establishes mood, images and meaning.
