I do not like my brother's wife and my feelings for my brother has changed because he has become a different person. I don't hate my brother, but I'm not comfortable around him anymore. He and I are 2 1/2 years apart and we were best friends growing up. Now we are strangers.
Unfortunately when people grow up and start living their own lives they become distant from their families. Everyone in my family is like that...we are all strangers and I have 4 brothers and 5 sisters and I'm not close to any of them.

The wife is right, because your brother is depressed, drinking alcohol is a depressant and will just keep him there. She wants to see him get better and it seems like you are not being a help in that department. Maybe you didn't know alcohol has that affect, but it does. You may also ask yourself why you need this with your brother. You two share the same heritage, maybe you are suffering with the same problem, but are not really aware of it. Once a person gets married, the wife becomes first. That is how it is and should be.

My brother and I were very close.
Since he met his girlfriend we've became distant.
Since he got engaged and moved in with her and her family it all went down hill from there.
She disrespected me and my Husband and my brother chose to ignore it.
When he is confronted about the situation he says her points are valid and she is not in the wrong.
On the other hand, he puts all the blame on my Husband instead.
Then he goes and tells me to choose, it's either my Husband or him.
Out of nowhere he says this to me. I know I don't have to choose I have no reason too.
He takes it as though I've already picked my Husband.
Then goes off and says, "We're no longer brother and sister".
So my Husband and I had a minor argument with his fiance' and this happens, unbelievable.
I didn't like her to begin with since I felt she was being "fake", acting all nice when behind closed doors she was different. I gave her a chance because my Husband was right, I shouldn't prejudge her when I didn't know her well enough. Turns out she is exactly what I thought she is from the beginning.

Yes I do dislike my brother's wife. The feeling is completely mutual - we're just different people. However even though I don't like her atttitude towards either my brother or my family, she *does* seem to be making my brother happy. Every cloud has a silver lining I guess.

I don't like my brother's wife because she think she is too good for our family. We try to make conversation with he but she just gives us a one word answer and doesn't continue it. She used to be a little nicer but that was before they were married so I think it was just an act. Now my brother doesn't come over to visit my mom because his wife doesn't want to. Has has become cold and distant with us.

the best thing my brother did was get married! They were married for 25 years and got a divorce now, but Gina and my mom & other sister still go on our girls week long vacation every year. she is still invited to family functions...she is the bestest!
(and yes, my bro is allright with all of this!)

well either way, you need to respect your brother, he obviously loves the girl and no matter what he will always be your brother, and now she's your sister-in-law. try to get to know her better and have a conversation with her, you may start thinking she's pretty nice if you take the time to get to know her.

My brothers wife and I do not get on, but we are civil to each other, you can't like everyone and we are both adult about it and just be pleasant to each other when we see each other, but we are certainly not and never will be friends.
