By this, I am guessing you have AVG Antivirus.

Basically, AVG notices that the shell32.dll file has changed. I bet this happens every month right? It's because the Windows updates update the file and AVG notices that it changed since it last scanned the file. If it registers as simply 'change' there is nothing to worry about.

Shell32.dll is a file that contains most of the visual settings for Windows, such as icons. It is meant to be there so don't panic if AVG picks it up.

shell32.dll is a library which contains Windows Shell API functions, which are used when opening web pages and files if this answers your question.

Malware can change this .dll file and make it open up something else when you click on your browser icon.

Example. An adult website ad instead of your home page.

That or make it to where you click on it. Nothing happens at all.

its a windows file and has changed maybe due to updating or a new program or at worst it could be infected with a virus. probably not a threat to your pc.
