I have to argue with Graft's answer. The problem with your science is that the floating body was quiet bloated. You forget that they often have to drag lake beds for bodies. A living body with a lung full of air (your lungs keep air in them even when you exhale) will float because of this air bladder, however after death, there's no reflexes to keep water out of the lungs. Your body will sink. Then, you will begin to rot. Now the rotting process does something magical. When the bacteria, fungus, and other such start consuming you and rendering you back to the earth, they will produce gas as a waste product. This gas will build up in the body and cause it to bloat. This will cause you to float again. But in the time between your death and your decomposition, you will sink.

It would be hard to find a tank that big, would need to take Shamu the Whale out of her tank and put Mangino in,I would say he floats, because oil or grease is lighter than water

Muscle is denser than fat so if he is 400 pounds and his body fat percentage is high he'll float. Also unless his lungs fill with water it is natural for the human body to float.

Hmm... just off the top of my head, it depends on the volume of the water. If it is more than 400lb in equiv volume, then he will float. If not, he sinks.

Fat is less dense than water so he would float.
