Who do people on Yahoo assume their opposite is a enemy extremist?

Liberals call conservatives nazis
Conservatives call liberals communists
Liberals say conservatives enjoy killing people
Conservatives say liberals want all troops dead
both call each other extremists that hate+despise America.

Is there a reason, besides being a bunch of slaphappy idiots, that we do this to each other? Where is the slightest respect for an opposing point of view? Where is the actual dialogue?

Why can't we all get back to the Middle as Moderates as we should be?

Or is this nothing more than people proving here on yahoo that we are less culterally evolved than apes?

Also...anyone who say it is only one side that does it is living in La-La land.

You're right: we've lost the ability to listen to and respect the others right to voice his or her opinion. From Sean Hannity to Ann Coulter to Rush Limbaugh to the right-winger next door, we can't get past gibbering insults and slobbering name-calling. Are we ever going to get back to a semblance of civility? Not for a long, long time. It will take some sort of national crisis on the level of a total economic collapse, a shattering epidemic disease, or a massive military invasion, to force us to band together, put aside differences and get our sh*t together. The really terrifying thing is, we may not be able to do that in time to save our own over-fed butts!
