this is a hard thing to answer. Well to start...Christians are supposed to be good and lead a good life for others to follow. But i don't think that it would be wrong for a christian to write erotica. Two reasons...#1. It would keep some from trying to go out and have sex before married, because they would be happy with just reading about it. <---some people. #2 Its not a sin to write about it..sex is a natural thing...aslong as in the book, the writer makes it a married couple or atleast a couple that is having safe sex, then i dont see what the big deal would be.

Conflict of interest is a legal term. It has nothing to do with Christianity and is not mentioned even once in the Bible. What is mentioned are the ten commandments. Writing erotica would be a sin against purity.

It was a Cairn terrier and Airdale that were dismissed by Westminster Dog Show Judge Peter Green. There are AKC show rules and sportsmanship guidelines that govern the show. All the handlers knew who the judge would be prior to entering the ring. Apparently rather than dismiss themselves or change handlers (due to the stress and responsiveness of the dog to a familiar handler AND apparently the client conflict with the judge would still remain) they chose to make a brief appearance. To win and enter the ring is prestigious and they seemed to have benefited from the outrage over the incident. I got a comment from Ernesto (handler) and wrote a more involved answer at my blog. Not sure if the links will work but you can read what I found out and the rules etc from those I attempted to list below.

I don't know of anything in the Christian faith that prohibits it.

If you're concerned that you may be promoting loose morals, then why not write about a married couple? After all, it can get pretty hot - oftentimes more than when you're single, since you can really let loose and not worry too much about your spouse having a problem with it. After all, I'm sure they know us pretty well by now!

Yes, I'm sure that most single people still want to believe the myth that it all stops once you get married (surely married people don't actually do stuff like that!), but in actuality, it's much better this way. You can really lose your inhibitions, since you don't really have to protect your ego any more, and there's no one that needs to be impressed.

Also, it's a niche that really doesn't seem to be filled these days. You might just corner the market - if you write it well.

Good luck!

Yeah it's a conflict of interest. Christians are supposed to hold an upstanding of the law in the Bible. By writting erotica that person will be publicising something that the Bible speaks against: promiscuity.

It's not a conflict of interest depending on the context. Erotica does not have to be un-Christian.

A Christian whose primary focus is his/her relationship with the Lord will find it hard to focus on erotica. It's like God would always be whispering in their ear "I made you for something better than this."

God made sex. It's an awsome gift. But erotica twists that gift into something that it was never intended to be.

Read the Bible and you will find lots of erotica. Start with the Song of Solomon - Here is the first line> Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Nothing wrong with being sexual and Christian, remember if there were no sex there would be no Christians.

No - erotica is not by definition sinful... all things have a time and place.
