Why do you treat it like a bunch of bull!? Think about it! How many Christians have died through the years trying to defend the faith, huh!? Look at St. Stephen--the first Christian martyr! Paul--once, a persecutor of the church, became a great missionary to the Gentile believers! James the brother of John was killed with the sword--probably beheaded, others were skinned alive, burned at the stakes, fed to the lions, dipped in burning oil, crucified (St. Peter was crucified upside-down)! I mean c'mon! think about it! How many people do you know would die for something they knew was a lie? If our faith was a lie, and we know the Saints have payed the price just to defend it, wouldn't that make them hypocrites? Just something to think about! God exists, and he will come back someday to judge both the living and the dead!

I am NOT expecting everyone else to DO what I do, I'm just miffed at how many people call it a LIE! Yes, yes, we know that it was WRITTEN by man, but should it be treated as MERE legend!? God forbid! Yes, it WAS written by the hand of man, but the inspiration came from GOD!

The bible is and should be a strong and daily guide, however, it was not written by god himself, these books are written by people with divine inspiration and testimonials, we should not be totally focusing on just one thing, people have to live their lives without having other people judging them for their beliefs, I try to follow te commandments and treat my neighbor the way I want to be treated, but I do not expect anyone else to do the same. I respect people for themselves not their beliefs. The saints were around when things were happening and were actual witnessess to the going ons in the era, I admire people who took a strong stance back in the day, I do not appreciate it now, times are different and there is a way to get to everyone differently

You are entitled to your opinion. Now having said that:
The Bible was NOT written by the hand of God, the Bible was written by mere mortal men based on what was happening during that time. Perhaps it was inspired by their belief in God?
Personally I think the Bible is a history book and it's been lost in translation for many centuries now...so, from my perspective, my question to you is: How do we justify it's validity?
If God exists, and he will come back someday to judge both the living and the dead, why are so many people pre-occupied with passing judgement on everyone else who doesn't hold the same beliefs as they do???

By your logic then, the Greek Beliefs should also be considered Godly.
Egyptian, Chinese, Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh, Islam and anything else we find is Godly.
Until man can PROVE the Bible as well as the History of Europe, its a Myth.
Just because Christianity has survived for 2000 years, the Death and Destruction it caused seems never to be spoken in the same sentence as its belief system.
Then you have to look at the secular divisions of your faith as is in the world today.

You talk as if the bible is a collection of facts. You do not even consider the possibility of it being made by man.

Yes, it does have something to do with events in the past. But it is also a fact that the stories have been tailored here and there. But you don't see those kind documentaries too often because people like you would threaten the TV station, the director, the reporters and who not to take to court and sue them.

Dying for one's faith is incredibly brave but it can also be incredibly stupid if you have the wrong information implanted in your head. Radical Muslims feel that if you kill an American or non Muslim that you will go to a heaven with lots of virgins.
True that the bible is written by man, but it should be used as a moral compass to guide one's self through life treating others with respect and loving one another.

How many christians have died through the years trying to defend their faith....Hmm heres a question
How many christians have died trying to force their faith on others.how many people have died because of christians thaught they were defending their faith by killing people who didn't believe their faith.
Also if i wrote down in a book the way that i think people should behave and what i think we should value and say that god told me to write this, i guess that means that you will have to accept it as truth from gods own mouth right.

Just because people died believing in it does not make it right.

Look at all of the people who willing gave their lives for the emperor of Japan during WWII. They believed he was a god. Do their deaths make their belief true?

What proof do you have that it was inspired by the hand of god?

It is a bunch of bull.
And, personally, I would not care to believe in an all-powerful being who plays with peoples lives. When something good happens, you say,"wonderful - the Lord helped us!"; when something bad happens, well, that was the will of the Lord.
Why would any good, kind god perpetuate human suffering to the extent that it exists today? Think about it.

Buddhist monks have died for their religion. Muslims have died for their religion. Does that mean that they are right also?Communist soldiers sacrifice themselves for their cause. Does that mean Communism is correct? The depth of ones beliefs has nothing to do with the correctness of those beliefs.

they died probably because of the outrageous things that Christians did to people that would not believe, and when ever someone is writing things in history, they tend to write it so that it makes there side look best. study your history from all sides instead of just one book.
