I guess somehow i pressed shift for too long....tried to redo it and click cancel but its still messed up I can't type in the address bar, everytime I use the mouse it highlights everything, please help.

Windows Sticky Shift enabled.

To find out if it is ineed your kewyboard that is at fault, just borrow someones keyboard and see if your start button and other problems are corrected.

If so, it may be that you can't fix your keyboard which is a conglomeration of springs and levers. A new one costs about $12 so you would not want to spend much time trying to fix it. (what is your time worth, $20 an hour or more?)

Then, when you do borrow that keyboard, do a restore on your PV. It will put everything else back in place.

Grr evey one is wrong. It's called sticky keys. Click Start>Control Panel. Then go to Accessibilty Options then uncheck use sticky keys. Then click settings and uncheck use shortcut. Click ok then ok again and you'll be fine.

Have you tried turning off your PC and unplugging your keyboard and then put it back in and boot your system, see if that works..Is there any yellow light on? if so try to turn them off.

If nothing else works, they are very inexpensive to buy a new one.
