This question was asked by Franzia Kafka and was unjustly removed. It is clearly relevant to Women's Studies.
Franzia also lost her account.
Why is it an insult to tell someone to 'suck your dick'?
Isn't it a healthy thing in most good relationships for some oral sex to be going on? Why is the act of sucking dick seen as generally demeaning and laughable?
And why would the offender in this situation probably run away/get weirded out if the insulted agreed, then and there, to do what the offender requested and actually suck his dick?

LOL... I've always wondered that. Isn't it saying, in effect, "you're a woman"? Isn't that why men find it insulting? I think this is akin to coaches calling their young male teammates, "girls" as an insult. It drives me batty.
I've actually thought about that a lot when I hear that phrase used in the movies or on tv. It's a great question and Franzia did NOT deserve to have it removed.

Well, a guy might say it to another guy (both straight) as it would be something a hetero guy would find repulsive.
But a man saying it to a woman? Well, if he doesn't know her it would be an inappropriate proposition. If it was his wife/girlfriend it really depends on the perception. That particular phrase is a bit more crude especially if the woman doesn't like "dirty talk." Something like "Would you place that warm mouth around my manhood and pleasure me?" might be "nicer."
The actual act of it is not demeaning. A man will tend to drift off to happy land if she is doing it well. She really has the power in the situation. She has his most sensitive and delicate body part in her mouth. Even the slightest teeth raking is unbearable.
Unfortunately, many women (at least the few I've experienced or my buddies have mentioned) are really not good at it. Sure, they go through the motions to try and please the guy but never really get "into it." The art of felatio is a priceless skill a woman can possess. She will be unforgetable. A friend of mine married 14 years still has happy thoughts about a woman's oral talent he knew over 15 years ago (before his wife).

well if you say it to someone you don't know or to offend them they will see it as an insult or even if they read it without a warning saying something like what your about to read has strong adult language please be advised or if their 5 to 10 year old child reads from their computer screen while out loud while they step away from the computer for a second and there are a variety of other reasons someone might be offended or take it as insult by hearing someone read out loud or reading suck my d**k or suck my p***sy instead of oral sex.

I think it has more to do with profanity in the community guidelines than,be view as an insult. Any type of an deviation from the guidelines is a reason for a troll to report you, if you are on their hit list.

I don't even want to know what is going on. lol
All I have to say is 'live by the sword, die by the sword'. I'm sorry that she and many others have lost their accounts to nonsense. And I hope that you do not lose yours Sigy.
(I've never lost an account (knock on wood) but can't you just use the same avatar and nickname so that people can identify you? I understand the frustration at losing the points and status, but you don't have to lose your identity too, do you?)

I thought it was an insult if a guy said it to another guy but to tell you the truth nobody has ever said it to me so I couldn't tell you. That is a bit rough for her loosing her account she had loads of points and was a top contributor, she should appeal to yahoo.

If I somebody tells me that i will merely smile greater! So i think of that's a compliment... notwithstanding that's extremely stupid to assume the entire outer visual attraction of somebody might desire to alter so notably with a grin... yet now that i think of roughly it.. people who smile ARE lots greater beautiful! compliment! :D

Hey Sigy,
Here's an article that I think you will enjoy in regards to your question... It's written by bell hooks. She, too, explored the ideas behind fellatio here.

It's not the act itself that's problematic, but telling someone to do it in such a blatant way is. Also, dropping the D-bomb on this site is bait for reportniks.
By the way, oral sex isn't a key ingredient in a good relationship; it's nice, but it isn't necessary.
