Colleges often host small trips for students who pay a small amount that covers amost all expences, such as Cedar Pointe, Ski Trips, etc. Has any one ever heard or know of chaperones attending these trips?I think that college students would be mature enough to be responible. I'm researching this for my boss. :)

I think it may be a good idea to have a chaperone or two but not too many. I think freshmen & even older may still need a chaperone but they are over 18 so I think it just depends on the students that are going. It may be student that NEED a chaperone. I think if they are mature students then NO they dont need a chaperone.

Yes, one would hope so. But many vacation sites, such as hotels, resorts and cruise ships, don't allow people under 21 - because of bad experiences with college students who aren't responsible and aren't mature enough to handle the independence on a trip with friends.

No chaperones on any college trips I ever went on- but I graduated in 1982. If they are mature enough to handle college, they should be mature enough to not need baby sitters. And since most would be 18+ they are legally "adults".
