This is not a mean spirited question! If you consider yourself to be a Liberal, have you ever admitted you were wrong concerning your stance on a topic and then apologized?
I'm a conservative Republican as well as a corporate executive. When I ,or those associated with my company, make a mistake,I'm the first to raise my hand and accept responsibility, and then implement the solution.

Interesting answers; some of you should take a moment to read through them.
You speak of inclusion, half of the answers could be viewed as personal attacks directed toward me.
You continue to bring up President Bush;nothing in the question refered to him.
You make assumptions about my voting history without even knowing me,that would be called a "mistake".
If you feel as though the country just can't understand you,you may wish to open your minds a little more and maybe see that your political posistion is devisive and therefore nothing more than a fringe movement.

Personally, I try to make sure I gather as much data on an issue before I act. This causes me to not side with cons on every issue, nor with libs on every issue, because both make issues of things that are just plain silly, likewise both make issues of things that make sense.
If logic says something makes sense, I support it. If logic states otherwise, I don't.
I have many conservative friends, that are completely baffled at why I consider myself a liberal, because I agree with many of their views. BUT when they start with the "A law needs to be made that enforces...[insert moral decision here]" is when the disagreement occurs.
We are at war, because we do not wish to have Islamic morals forced upon us, this view should be upheld when it comes to all faith-based ideologies.
If you haven't noticed, every tyrant that has ever existed has justified his acts with faith-based beliefs. The most notorious criminals believed they were doing what was right. example: Al Capone believed he was a public benefactor by creating jobs.
When a government is allowed to start passing laws that follow this type of behavior, we aren't headed for a nice little Christian Utopia, we are headed toward abuse of power.
When oversight is ignored for the sake of security, we are likewise, headed down that same slippery slope. There is no doubt about it. Many people who support the second amendment, and oppose extreme gun control(which i am one), seem to also support lack of oversight in secret government programs(which i don't), because they see it as a promise of security, rather than a threat to the whole reason for supporting the second amendment. They are conflicting views.
Likewise, people who cry the loudest about Abortion should be made illegal, are also the same people crying that taxes should be lowered, without considering the fact an Abortion ban requires laws, enforcment officers, and more expenses that will need to be paid through taxes. Another conflicting view. I am in no way saying Abortion is the right choice, but it is the choice that the rest of us won't have to pay for, while nothing is really solved. Fact of Supply and Demand: where there is a demand, there will be a supply, even if it is more costly.
And sure , I am more than willing to admit when I am wrong. I benefit by being proven wrong. But i just don't see that happening by people who fall for catchy buzz-words, rant and rave about demonized libs, and parrot talking points perpetuated by people who aren't as informed as they think they are; considering the fact that is the whole reason I am considered a commie lib by extreme right-wingers, and feel that lib-bashing generalizations are referring to me, in the first place.

Are you definitely telling me which you would be able to study the politics section and don't see particularly some the call calling, finger pointing coming from the conservatives? I do call conservatives dumb, yet it is by the fact they repeat for ever and ever smears and lies that they've heard from Rush and Beck with out ever checking them. Outrageous, in many situations racist smears like "Obama hates the country." Bigotry like "Barack Hussein Obama." and that they never look to think of, never. to question or examine. yet I continually respond with courtesy to actual looking questions. besides, i haven't heard a white liberal ask for forgiveness for being white. I honestly have heard white liberals make an apology that their ancestors exterminated the Indians and enslaved Africans, and that i accept as true with that sense sorry approximately. I do think of that beginning up with the child boomer era, knowledgeable individuals grew to become self-hating in the direction of ecu lifestyle and successes. That exchange right into a effect of reaction to the Vietnam conflict and our country continues to be no longer freed from it and is no longer for a while. it is not a feeling that i've got ever shared, whether I damaging the conflict and belong to that group. definitely, it quite is a community wherein i think of the two liberals and conservatives are habitually incorrect, in view that the two factors properly known only 0.5 of the reality.

Absolutely! I hate to bash one side over the other, but I tend to think that liberals are the more likely group of the two, to see more sides of an issue than one. It is because of this open-mindedness that we are often referred to as "wishy washy" or (God, I can't believe I am actually using this word) "flip flopping". So I think it is easier to see liberals admitting defeat than conservatives. Please know, I am not trying to bash. I am simply giving you my viewpoint. I make mistakes like anyone, and can admit when I am wrong. I am, for the most part, a liberal, and I can admit when I've believed in something that I changed my mind about. I think we all need to be able to do that more often.

If I'm wrong I admit it and accept the consequences. It's called accountability. It's also a concept that Conservatives refuse to recognize. There attitude seems to be when proven wrong, repeat the Conservative doctrine and engage in personal attacks on the other side.

Not on answers.. because we rarely talk about facts here.. just opinions.. and mine are just as valid as the next guys.
On the rare occasion someone can prove me wrong on a fact rather than an opinion I have no problem admitting that.

I've been wrong about many things. I think you'll find many more liberals ready to admit being wrong, or unsure over something than conservatives. After all, as a corporate exec., you're just trying to get cheap labor to compete with other corporations, while we're fighting for everyone to have better wages.

absolutely. i voted for Nader in 04. never again will i unwittingly help a candidate like Bush win by a mere 2% of the (official) vote.
making a mistake does not become being wrong until after you refuse to acknowledge the mistake as having been a mistake.

Have you apologized to your employees for using the internet at work for personal use? Something your employees would get fired for if they did it because more than likely it is a company policy that the computer is to be used for work only.
