when a guy says i don't know im not sure what i want or can't say idk...when asked what he wants with regard to starting up again the once broken relationship...what is he trying to say?

the guy does not hesitate to say what he thinks no matter if they hurt the other person....and still he doesn't know what he wants....

He's saying he's doesn't want the relationship, but he's trying to spare the feelings of the person asking. Hope it's not you.

Sounds like he's either "really" not sure if it's a good idea, he's playing games and trying to play hard or he just doesn't want to say No inorder to avoid hurting your feelings. He could be intrested in someone else and wants to see where that relationship can go first. Just leave him alone and let him make the moves. Don't sit around and waiting for him. Continue on with your life and when he calls trying to talk and monopolizing your time, just ask him again, what does he want from you? You know what you want, he needs to decide but don't make yourself readily available for him just incase he is playing games and if he "really" wants the two of you to be together, he'll step up. If he doesn't he won't, it's really that simple. Hard to do when you want what you want, but simple:):)

it means he has no idea what he wants or what he feels. he has conflicting feelings and maybe trying to figure out his stronger feelings...if you don't know you just don't know sometimes.
