BAGHDAD — Taking advantage of a dramatic drop in car bombings and sectarian murders, Baghdad residents are once again venturing out to local markets and restaurants after dark in many parts of the city. They're celebrating weddings and birthdays in public places and eating grilled carp on the Tigris River late into the night

A local television station has begun a feature called "Baghdad Nights," showing the capital's residents shopping, eating and socializing after the sun has set— a sight that until recently was unheard of in most neighborhoods.

Their full-page attack ad against the General was nothing less that disgraceful, and at the very least I think they owe him a HUGE apology

No. They want to lose the war and Petraus is helping to win the war. No apology necessary.

Hey Don C. Since 50,000 + people die each year in the US from auto accidents should we start walking or riding our bikes. These deaths are sacrifices for the freedom of many. They are sons, fathers...yes, their families should be proud because they are also heroes.

and John Dai. It's a good thing that you had MEN next to you in the fight because it sounds like you would have cried for your mommy.

Not in this lifetime! Of course, their attack was disgraceful, they are disgraceful people.
Democrats will accept no out come other than their predicted Quagmire and Defeat. They caused such a mess during Vietnam.
What did the idiots get for it? They got the Presidency from 1976 - 1980. The nation quickly got rid of the Carter loser and went back to being a strong country again.

come on does that sound like something they will do, they will make an excuse if it comes up again or ignore it.

Accountability isn't the Democrats thing.

I mean listen to the liberal responses that's about what you will get from the politicians since the liberals are all clones and can't think for themselves.

The ignorant, uninformed, and uneducated people will always vote for the Democrats because they have and can continue fool them every time.

No need to apologize to yet another general that tells the president what he wants to hear. The violence may not be as bad as it was in the past but it has hardly vanished. I know, since the violence has vanished lets all us liberals buy plane tickets for Bush, Cheny, Rice, Dead Marxist, PNAC and any other blind idiot repub and send them on a 15 month tour of Iraq.

If, indeed, we are doing so well militarily we can surely bring our troops home. Of course there is still the matter of a political solution over there that doesn't seem to be going very well. But that only counts when you want it to, right?

No, no apology is needed to the Bush hack, Genl. Petraus.

While I tended to agree with MoveOn I let them know I did not approve of the ad. They seem to be awfully quiet right now.

When we do bring the troops home will the violence increase, will it stay the same or will it decrease?

Of course, we will see those rose petals strewn before all of our trimphant legions very soon, right? Any minute now, right?

The hostilities, or war, we were told was over. The mission was accomplished, yet we, those seen as infidels by the locals, are still there on their land. Until those infidels, us, leave, they will have reason to recruit more and more people who will bring terror to innocent civilians and to our military.

The liberals are just cowards. Somebody should sue Moveon for the libel they came with against the Gen. Why does nobody sue them on his behalf I think they should, make those mf's pay for it, they can stump up with George Soros money !!

No. There was legitimate reason at the time to be skeptical about the report. That's what the Moveon ad was about, raising questions. It wasn't the attack on Petraus that the right made it out to be. There is also the issue of the draw down of the "surge" troops and if the violence will remain under control once those additional troops are gone. That's a concern expressed by some of the commanders in Iraq.

My brother, you must be dreaming.

1. Democrats do not make mistakes
2. Democrats don't apologize, they lie, (ie; "I never had sex with that woman!")
3. Hillary will tell you, "That's news's to me!"
4. Those must be photos of Los Angeles!
