It needs to be straight forward enough for a class of 9 year olds to do it! ny ideas greatly appreciated!

Either find on Google or draw the tower in simplified form and one flat side only. Photocopy four and mount together on the one A/4 sheet. Cut out the four outlined images and stick with glue or double sided tape making a 3D image. The only other cutting work would be the arched leg supports. You would have to experiment with your mock up to begin, then copy off how many you need. Using stiff paper or thin card.

K-nex or Meccano? Bit more interesting than simply glueing A to B to C. Plus, you could give them photographs of the real thing to copy, and give an award for the most realistic.

tub of wood glue blunt cocktail sticks and pieces of cardboard. its worth a go and easy, paint the pieces first.
