You should use your Administrator account to create a new user with your name and give it the User or Administrator status. Guest status has very limited access.

If you assign them as an administrator, you'll have access to everything but so will any malicious program that you run.

If you assign them as a user, you may need to log into your administrator account to install new software or change system settings, but your computer will be a tad more secure.

Don't use the guest account - as a matter of fact, just disable it.

Reboot and hit F8 when the hyphen is flashing in the upper right corner. A menu should appear. Click Safe Mode. Choose Administrator, there should be no password. Now you have an admin account so you can reset her password. If admin has a password, as it should in Xp Pro, make an OhpCRack disk and boot off of it.

A guest account can do almost nothing. You need to make it an ordinary user account, but without admin.

The Guest Account is just that, it is for folks who normally do not have access to your computer so it has very limited privileges. If you want an account for folks other then yourself you should create that account. Then you can give this "new" account any privileges that you wish.

When you log in (at the start) you need to log in with the new account you made? (the Gust and Admin accounts are there already) Then just make sure that you gave your self some of the ADMIN privileges.
