No, my mom use to always say that to me, brothers and sisters. I would feel pretty bad and all she had to say was suck it up. Everytime she said that it made me feel worse and wanna kick her. I cut my leg when I was 6 and got stiches for it. That is all she had to say. That saying should be banned.
My mom told me the reason she said that to us was because she didn't want us to whine at her for barely hurting our selves. She said she has seen too many kids act like they broke their arm over a small cut.
I sorta understand but I would really would rather have a hug. It would have made me feel better.

A whiny little 4 four year old playing with my nephew after an all day trip to the zoo. Said it in a quite little, rather threatening voice since nothing suiting the little monster the whole day. Hope his mom doesn't find out.

Yes, all the time!
Every time I have to listen to a guy whine or cry about something! I hate that! It's so freakin' annoying!
Whaaa, my back hurts, whaaaa my head hurts, whaaaa, I got a paper cut, Whaaaa, why don;t you love me...I swear, what ever happened to manly men?
It seems like I'm always telling someone to suck it up, or man up!

Ahh yes, they hurt themselves during a football game. I asked them if their leg came off, they said no so I said "suck it up you pansy and play some football"
I look back on it now and realize it was the right thing to do.

Well, technically I told the to go suck eggs, but the two phrases are similar in meaning. They were being a jerk to me, and I try not to swear, so I use awesome things like "Fiddlesticks!" instead of da** and such. =) It always throws them for a loop.

My Wife, after she had a C-Section.
That was 8 years ago, and I'm just starting to get the feeling back in my legs.

Yep. We "had" to get a major project done before we could go home, and Happy Hour was almost over. I could have killed the guy.

Yeah, I tell alot of people that and sometimes to myself. I tell them if they are crying about something stupid, or just lost, etc. Then they need to suck it up and get over it.
