A keylogger is probably what you want. An example would be
http://www.spectorsoft.com/keylogger.asp?refer=27072

This is software that you install on the machine you want to monitor. Then everything that they type and click on gets logged and you can see what they're doing and where they go on the 'net.

How invasive do you want to be?

A keylogger is a program that you secretly install on the computer which allows you to see a file that has everything they type on the computer in it. You will be able to see every site they visit, every e-mail they send (not receive), every char they send, etc. But it can mean wading through pages and pages of garbage looking for something.

Another alternative is to install a "remote" program such as VNC which allows you to bring up on your computer exactly what they are seeing on their screen. You can sit and watch every move they make. But it does not log the information, so only useful when you on your computer monitoring. Useful for an occasional check. (Puts a little fear in them when you mention once that you saw them doing whatever...)

Or, if you trust them and just want a quick check from time to time, turn on File Sharing fro their hard drive. You can go there and see what is in their temp Internet files, history, downloads, etc. But are not watching them every second.

So depends on the level to which you feel the need to monitor them.

go to my network places first if your using windows and it should pop the network at least click on view workgroup computers. If there is nothing in this you're not in the same workgroup, you'll then have to click on view system imformation click on the computer name tab check what workgroup your in the default might be defaultwg, you can either change that or just set up both computers on the same workgroup, then change the security settings on your teenager's computer by going into security settings and allowing your computer's name as full acess. and there you go
