Do you think airfares from the UK to europe will go down in price.

The cheap airfares all came when the train was already in place.
I do not think they will go down farther, as you can already fly for £0 plus taxes sometimes.

I would expect them to go up, as the European countries want to charge an 'environment' tax.
Only that money is to go into the national treasury, not in a plan to safe the environment.
At this moment only the Netherlands seem to plan it, but there is talk about it in more countries.

No - flying is already cheaper than the train and the train is aiming at the business class traveller - the new St Pancras station is already broadcasting the fact that it has a 95 metre long champagne bar - tells you all you need to know doesn't it ....

No. With a low fare carrier, flying can already be cheaper than the train.
