My boyfriend is a Systems Engineer. He earns pretty good money and he dosen't do much. the only thing is that the classes are tough and you have to be be updated with the lastest computer information. So you have to been learning new things all the time.
Basically any job that involves alot of education and experience can get you good money. theres no easy way out unless you are really talented in some area like singing or acting. but even that involves alot of work.
Bill gates had to work hard to get to where he is
and Puff Daddy didn't become rich overnight...
hope this helps...

Depends on what you consider "good pay". Are you including benefits? What are your interests? How often and how long per day do you want to work? What is your education level? These all come into play when you consider pay. Judging from the two professions you listed, I would assume you mean take-home pay. Engineers and computer programmers make pretty good money.

Try Freelance Photography in any combat zone. Also work for a contractor(Brown & Root; Haliburton-etc.) in a combat zone. Teach English overseas in a combat zone. All these pay pretty good six figure incomes if you're good, and are normally tax-free. Do some research on the net if you're interested.

Define your definition of really good pay?
Where do you live? Whats the cost of living like? Are you married or do you want to be? Do you have kids or do you want to have them? Do you want to own a house or rent?
Some people could live well on $80,000 a year, others it would take $180,000.

Pharma industry - get a PhD in microbiology (chemistry jobs seem to be dissappearing) and apply to Abbott, Merck, Amgen or Novartis - they are located in MA, CA. Nice places to live. Be prepared to work hard! PhD scientist positions get $100K for start.
