Like it already have been said, it's so that people will remember that way, and also not be confused if they look different.
The outfits aren't regulary changed so that they can have a strong character recognition. Also sometimes a character in new outfit can be confused by some viewers as a new character.
Plus, a new outfit means that the animators have to relearn to draw the character all over again.
Even "Card Captor Sakura" that regulary have new outfits in each episode, also have many of its characters shown in regular outfits, like school uniforms and pajamas. One of Sakura's strongest character recognition is when she's in her school uniform.
It should be noted that the Simpsons do wear different outfits in certain occassion, such as during prison scenes, fancy parties, military duties, and so on.

countless reasons. one million) It creates a picture which you realize. in case you notice bald yellow head, white shirt and blue denims, that is quickly Homer Simpson. 2) Animation may be honestly reused. this would not continuously paintings out nicely however, as an occasion in Rosario to Vampire Capu2 episode 9 the male character had taken his proper off and positioned it down on the floor of the cave. A 2d later he replaced into donning it returned devoid of placing it decrease back on or transferring. 3) that is extra handy to attract the comparable ingredient repeatedly.

Easier for the animators to keep track. If you keep changing costumes there is bound to be a mix up in communication and a shirt will suddenly become green instead of blue half way through a show.

Because if they have to wear different clothes, that mean each episode would cost $1.1 million instead of just the $1 million. LOL! ^_^

Because it's a cartoon. In real life, people have to change clothes, but the rules are different in cartoons.

Good question. I'm sorry I have no answer. But wonder the same thing myself. Family guy is that way too. Actually most cartoons are that way.
