it's asking how many sick days I've taken in the last 2 years...

should I tell the Truth... (was off with stress for 2-3 months)... or should i Lie.... or.. .is there an alternative solution ?

The truth always comes out. Try 'I took 3 months leave due to stress-related illness, however I have since fully recovered and am at full working capability' or words to that affect.

Bend the truth...
Say that you were off for a reasonable time for the sickness that you had. (If depression is a sickness... I'm not sure).
That way they will only find out if they ask you directly.

I don't know maybe a little white lie wouldn't hurt, as long as you don't plan on taking a whole lot of time off in future I'd say you'd be fine.

Tell the truth, anything that you lie about on your application that shows up later is terms for dismissal/termination. You don't have to write why you took those 2-3 months off, you can claim them personal or just leave it blank. Employers are not allowed to give out that kind of information to another potential employer.

Sorry, but my advice is NO. IF you read many application forms, there is a paragraph somewhere before you sign it that states, in essence, that IF you LIE on your application, you can be terminated automatically, AND you could be SUED for whatever liablity that your lying may cause.

So, it is best for you to tell the TRUTH, and if an interviewer inquires about your "excessive time-off," you will have to have SOME response that sounds "acceptable" to the interviewer as to why you had to take that time off.

Otherwise, your azz is in heap-big legal trouble!!!

I believe in telling the truth. These questions are track-able.

You sure don't need the stress of worrying about being found out. It's tough out there. One would be temped to lie.~~

The only alternative that comes to mind is Prayer.
Deep & earnest prayer.
You can't lie & pray & expect a positive answer.

It's a hard call but MOST businesses (unless they are very small one) do in fact check that - in fact they get a whole "Personal Profile" from all of your previous employers.
That being said if you lie they are going to know. Maybe best to tell the truth and then just explain if questioned.

If you took a short leave of absence (and 2-3 months off is just what that is) then it would not be considered lying regarding your sick days. Just explain that you were going through some personal things and had to take some time off. I am sure question is referring to how many days you called off sick.

They might check, so i would tell them the truth. I would tell the truth and then say you will explain it to them why you were off for 2 -3 months.

What a loaded question.
On the one hand if you lie and they find out you will probably be fired for the lie on the application.
On the other hand if you tell the truth I doubt anyone will hire you.

My first instinct is to tell you to lie.....will they check?
But thinking more deeply maybe on this occasion honesty is the best policy.Explain the circumstances and how you are feeling positive now that it wont affect future work prospects.
Dont think employers now can penalise you for this although they maybe would think you may be off again and this time they would have to pay you.
