no one should be having affairs. God, what are people thinking? Get a damn divorce first!!! Don't you have any respect for the other party involved? How would you feel if your partner whom you were in love with done this to you?

No I haven't had an affair and don't plan to. I love my husband dearly and I am a stay at home mom so sometimes I get very lonely. And I have been afraid of running into someone who would give me some attention and be vulnerable. And I hate that because I never want to betray someone I love so much. So I make sure now that my husband and I have good quality time together and that I stay busy with my kids and house work and that makes me feel better. But now I know why housewifes have affairs or begin to abuse alchol or other drugs.

It can happen to the strongest relationships when a couple become too complacent and take each other for granted. Marriages need to be constantly fed, reevaluated, and effort put in to keep things fresh, interesting and exciting.
When people just sit back and think that now they are married they don't have to bother trying any more. That's where another person can suddenly push all the right buttons. People who have affairs aren't all evil. They can just be lonely, neglected, and in need of affection.
People on here should stop judging others so harshly.

I have never had an affair before. But, it is on my mind right now. My husband and I are having some serious problems, but I don't think I could ever go through with it. I think a lot of people have affairs when they hit rough spots in their marriages, but there are also a lot of people who would never have an affair. It is a terrible feeling to be cheated on, I would like to believe that I would never do that to someone else.

I think a lot of people answering this question are being judgemental. You don't know what other people are going through in their marriages that drive them to cheating. In some cases, I think you do what you have to do. As long as the spouse doesn't find out and you are safe. You can love your spouse till you're blue in the face, but sometimes people are stubborn or stop caring about their physical appearance or stop giving you attention and refuse to change no matter what you do or say. Everyone needs to stop judging others. And those of you who are talking about how much you love your spouse, you are probably the main ones getting cheated on yourselves.

Yes, I have and will again. I've been married for 20 years. My wife has decided that she doesn't want sex any more. She says its a "chore". I met a woman in class when I went back to college and we had an affair for the last 5 years. It started off as us just talking in class, then one thing led to another. It happened because she gave me what my wife is unwilling to. Sex. Yes I said sex. I wasn't looking for it. I was actually resigned to the fact that I would never have sex again. "For better or for worse" But does that count if one of them refuse to participate? How would some of you feel if your spouse suddenly decided that sex was an after thought? What would you do? And to answer some of your questions in advance, I have 2 children. They know nothing of our discussions. We do not talk or have "discussions" in front of them. I am only still in this relationship for them. At times, I have felt there wasn't any use to continuing on with things, but my "lover" has kept me from feeling that way. When I have attempted to discuss this with my spouse, I've been shunned. Told the only thing that can be done for me is to lock me away.

Been married now for 9 years and I have never thought of having an affair or one night stand.
I love my husband dearly and I love my family to much to mess that up.
No body is worth losing them.

Let me just say one thing about this affair thing...Its because of men who cannot keep their business in their pants and women who cannot keep their legs closed there are so many diseases spreading like wildfire...if people were more respectful fo their wife/husbands (bf/gf) these diseases would almost be wiped out..i have never cheated on the person that i have been with but i watch the pain my mother has to go through every day because my dad keeps cheating....
It just shows the dishonor that people have towards the VOWS people take when they get married....there is one respondent to this question who seems like he doesnt care about cheating on his wife for over 5 years.... he has said nothing about talking to his wife about why she doesnt want to have sex anymore he doesnt even sound like he is trying....its people like that who disgust me...
HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE FROM AIDS OR BROKEN HEARTS FOR OTHERS TO REALISE THE CORRUPTION THEY ARE CAUSING.

I have never had an affair nor will I. I love myself too much to disrespect myself. Marriage is all about trust, loyalty and getting through the "bad times" stronger. please, if you're thinking of it, don't do it. It will be the worst mistake you've ever made. think about it, why not just leave if you're not happy?
