I am a huge Yankee fan, and while A-Rod was with the team, I felt that he never fit in with the Yankee system. He opted out and basically said that all the great things that he said in the past about New York were lies. A-Rod is in it for the money, and has no pride. I never want someone who thinks that they are above the game to wear the pinstripes. If the Yanks are in fact talking to him, then that is sad, especially the way that he treated the team and the game. One thing is for sure, they will NOT give him 350 million dollars. I don't think they are going to give him a great deal, otherwise they would have already made it, especially since the Rangers were paying a great deal of his salary on the contract that he opted out of. Baseball is tired of Boras, with his overblown deals for mediocrity, like J.D. Drew and Barry Zito. Boras thinks he can control baseball, but MLB has had enough. As for A-Rod, I hope he never wins a world series. Oh yeah, its sad that he might go down in history as the greatest player ever, but he will NEVER go down as the greatest Yankee ever.

A-Rod can't cut out Scott Boras legally or practically - he has a contract with Boras, and Boras has made him the richest baseball player in history. There's not a baseball fan alive that wouldn't trade places with A-Rod, and try get as much money as they possibly can.

A-Rod should get rid of Scott Boras.
Plot for Godfather Part 4:
Scott Boras is thrown off of Yankee Stadium by the remaining soldiers of the godfather.

A-Rod will be back in the Bronx. Its a lock. Its the one place that needs him more than any other and the one place that can give him the most money. He is also guaranteed a plaque in Monument Park and his number retired if he stays.
I love the fact that A-Rod is pissed at Boras now and wants him out of the negotiations.

The Yankees have no intention of signing A-Rod again. They're trying to drive the market price up by appearing to still be interested. They know when they're in the race for a free agent teams will up their offer knowing the Yanks have the money to throw at the player.

I find it extremely childish on the Yankees part. Yes it was poor timing when it was announced but the option to opt out was part of his contract and A-Rod was well within his rights to excerise it.
Players have agents so they don't have to deal with negociations and contract terms and such.
if this is how the Yankees handle business I think they're in trouble.

I really hope he does return to the Yankees.
The levels of backtracking from the fans would be an absolute riot.
Can't wait to see them talk their way out of that development.
