I have my in-laws in town staying with us for a week. They are from Mexico; they have their valid driver license, Visa, passport & I94. Can they drive my car? If a police stop them, would that documentation be enough?

Yes. If they plan on being here more than 30 days though they will need a international drivers license.

I believe they can legally drive with those documents, but you may not have the right insurance for them to drive your car. If you don't and your state requires all persons driving a car to be insured, then no.

Legally, yes, they can, as long as your insurance covers them. I suggest you call your agent and check that.

For a few bucks (It cost me $10 when my parents visited from England) your agent can even give you a revised insurance card that lists them by name if your insurance already covers "any driver".

If your insurance only covers "named drivers" then they can't legally drive unless they get insurance. Again, for only a week your insurer will add them for a very low fee.

I should think so. One of my boyfriends is from India and he drives and has been stopped; no problem, but you really should make a quick phone call to your registry of motor vehicles to make sure. I live in a very liberal state and GA is very conservative, so it wouldn't hurt to double check.
