Try Clark's shoes or Easy Spirit. They are making their shoes more stylish (less old lady looking) and are quite comfortable. If you're allowed to be casual, go with Crocs. Yes, they are sort of funny looking, but SO comfortable. The two previously mentioned brands are a bit dressier. Good luck, and get yourself a foot massage ;-)

First off -- dont' be so quick to diss Red Wing. Look at their on-line catalog on the "womens shoes" tab and you will see they do have fairly stylish shoes, not just "manly boots." I've owned several pairs of their shoes and they are very comfortable. Your local Red Wing store can measure you to fit and then order any pair you want.

Another great brand of shoes for all-day support is Mephisto. My sister, who has flat feet, has found they are the only shoes that are comfortable for her. They are expensive if you buy from a dealer ($200 to $300!) BUT you can find them on-line either new (try Sierra Trading Post) or on Ebay and Craigslist. I have two pairs I bought for less than $10 -- one new and one barely used (I just sprayed them with antibacterial) from CL. Some models of Ecco shoes are good, too. And Clarks has a huge line of cute shoes that feel good (I'm actually wearing a pair right now, one of my favorites.)

Make sure you get the right size -- I buy the Dr. Scholl's cushioned arch support insoles first and try on shoes using them to make sure they fit. The insoles make a huge difference! Lace-up shoes are more supportive than slip-ons and you can adjust them as your feet swell during the day. Good socks help too -- try the "smartWool" or "Thorlo" cushioned socks. They are expensive at sporting goods stores but they often show up at Marshalls or T J Maxx for less.

Good luck! Hope you can get happy feet.

Dansko makes the very best work shoe I have ever worn and I have been in the service industry for 20 years. They're cute and feel very comfortable, but be aware they are not very cheap. You can get a pair for around $110.00 Good luck!

Not sure what kind of job you are working, but when I worked two jobs my second one was in a restaurant. I bought some Crocs; they were great! Comfortable, waterproof, slip-proof...everything you need, unless you're in an environment where they're not appropriate. Good Luck! http://www.crocs.com/

Dansko or Birkenstocks are good shoes. They are expensive though.
