they have just evolved to be capable of functioning under great pressure but hey would be unable to survive at surface level - the lack of pressure would cause them to explode

THAT'S WHERE THEY GREW UP IF WE WERE CONCEIVED, GESTATED, BORN, AND MATURED THERE WE WOULD FIND IT NORMAL TOO. AS WELL ASK YOURSELF WHY WE CAN BREATHE AIR AND A FISH CANNOT.
