Very interesting. I have worked with people with both physical and intellectual disabilities and believe that, in the right circumstances, this is a good idea.
I have worked with people in their 20s and 30s who are very sexually frustrated. They still have sexual urges but do not have a partner to share this with. The frustration can result in challenging behaviours and seriously disruptive incidents (including men masturbating in inappropriate places and attempting inappropriate acts on female staff and hurting themselves while trying to satisy their need).
I honestly think that if having consenual sex with another person was an option, some of these clients would have a higher quality of life.

I have never heard of such ignaorance from so many people.
Even disabled people need some kind of love.....and yes, they have their sexual needs to despite being disabled. And just because a disabled person has sex, it does not follow the child born will be disabled. Nor does it follow any diseases will result from a union of two people. I mean if diseases are going to happen, it can happen with abled bodied people too. Just because you are disabled, it does not mean you are most at risk of catching or giving anything like a disease.

Hi Buddy, why limit yourself to your immediate locality??? - now we have the internet, email and instant messaging etc, etc, you could be a secretary of a much larger 'disabled' group nation, European or even world-wide. If that is what you want to do, I'm up for it too and am willing to help in any way I can.

Sex is a need. Imagine being a man with quadrepligia and having no use of your hands? Imagine being a woman who has fibromyalgia and gets so tired she can't masturbate to orgasm? If you were single would you really want to think that you would never experience sexual pleasure again (or at all) in your lifetime? People do need to be loved, but you can't hire someone to love you.

Love is needed, not sex. People who care about the disabled is needed. This sounds sick and twisted to me. Almost like sexual abuse.

i don't think sex is a need, but a desire. hey if people are willing to volunteer for it that's great. i've had sex with people i wasn't attracked before, basically cause i felt sorry for them. it actually wasn't bad. i still enjoyed it even thought i didn't like them

That is completely disguisting and repulsive. If they want the disabled people to feel better they can have a fund raiser to buy them all thier own personal sleeve modeled after the porn celebrity of thier choose, it spreads less diseases.
