Commanderbuck: if what you say is true, is it really acceptable for Bush to take 7 years to get around to fixing something as important as the Justice Dept.?!? Wasn't Alberto Gonzales supposed to fix that?? I'm not sure what your point is...

It went to hell BECAUSE he was on watch.
He wanted a rubberstamp DOJ just as he had a rubberstamp congress. Its in a mess BECAUSE he loaded it with guaranteed, certified, more-Bush-than-Bush supporters, and then when some of them proved to think a little too much, fired them and found even stronger Bush supporters.
Do you think, for the remainder of his presidency hes going to put in anything other than the yes men hes already proffered?
All new Presidents have the right to put their people in place, that's why Clinton fired the old regimes federal prosecutors and brought in his people. When Bush got in he fired them and brought his own people in, and that was fine...what wasn't fine was that he then fired his own appointees when they didn't investigate as ordered, or end investigations when asked to. In other words, the executive branch was interfering with the judicial branch. In our government that's a big no-no. Usually once you have your own men in you leave them, not wholesale fire them for doing their job.

As I said before. The words Bush and pledge lack cohesion.

Nope...the Janet Reno era started the rotting process ! Kinda hard to fix anything when you get chewed by the liberal press for getting rid of deadwood US Attorneys...of course, that's what the libs want. Deadwood that thinks {?} like them !
