This is just a hypothetical question so Patriots fans don't get excited or take it the wrong way.

1. Colts - With #6 defense.
2. Steelers - With the #1 defense in the NFL.
3. Titans -Very feisty and resilient with the #7 ranked defense.
4. Jaguars - That sleeper team that could pull off a upset
5. Chargers - Who are looking for some payback and respect.

I dont see any of those teams winning a playoff game at foxboro.
Colts - Number 6 defense which brady shredded for almost 300 yards. Colts have a good defense simply due to the fact that they have only played one good offense all season. Then they gave up 110 rushing yards and 255 yards passing and that was at Indy. New England will play better against them at home, especially due to the fact that indy is an indoor team.
Steelers - Probably the best chance of any, but Big Ben isnt a very intelligent guy and I think the Patriots will come up with defensive schemes that are too confusing. Dont forget, although you mentioned defenses above, the Patriots have the number 4 defense in the NFL, and have played some of the top offenses in Indy, Dallas, Cleveland and Cincy.
Titans - Joke - Doubt they will be in the playoffs. Probably Cleveland.
Jags - Joke - Good defense, not so good offense.
Chargers - wouldn't even a playoff team in another division, if they were in the AFC East they would be fighting Buffalo for the second spot.

Let's get this straight...I HATE the patriots!!!

No Way:

-can the Titans keep overcoming Vince Young's poor play? Sometimes yes, sometimes no, but no against New England.
-Jags have a much better offense than you outsiders realize, but the defense is suspect. Particularly the safeties, who would get picked apart by Brady and his speedy receivers.

Maybe:
-the colts are hurting right now. Gotta wait and see how they adjust, but it doesn't look so good. Still, can't count them out yet. They seemed dead in the water after the Jax debacle last year...
-I think SD has no chance as they are right now, but they could turn things around at any point. The problem is not the talent, so they could be dangerous if they make it to the playoffs.

Best chance:
That leaves me with the Steelers. They're tough enough, experienced enough, talented enough. Not as good, but could pull the upset. Oh yeah, and btw, I hate the steelers too.

Colts would do it because they know how to win against the Pats. They simply have more experience playing them and can match up well.

-The Titans would have no chance. Let face it. Vince Young-- in January against the Pats. LMAO.
-Jags are really not that good. Blow out.
- Chargers way to inconsistent, and Rivers is horrible this year.
- Steelers clearly have the best shot other the Colts, but they have been too unpredictable this year. i just dont think they could beat the Pats when it counts.

The only ones that even have the slightest chance would be your top two choices - Indy and Pittsburgh.

Indy has the offense and has shown that it has the defense to compete with New England and that last fumble by Manning won't happen again. Manning learns and will be looking for payback once more.

Pittsburgh is an unknown but with their defense as tough as it is, we might see another Indy/New England type game where the defenses of both teams step up and force the other teams offense to beat them.

I look at the Steelers to knock off New England. They have both the offensive and especially defensive talent to hold New England back from having a TD fest while putting numbers on the board themselves.

Either way it should shape up to be an excellent game if both teams are still healthy.

Colts - not a chance. Did you watch the game in Indy?

Steelers - not going to happen. The Pats will be up for them, it will be in Foxboro, and the steelers really aren't that good.

Titans, Jaguars, Chargers (ha ha), no, no, no.

The Bills could surprise them. I'm actually more worried about the Jets and Dolphins.

IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!! The Pats this year are the greatest team of all time.

I would give two teams the thumbs up on this one. The Steelers for one are an amazingly underrated and overlooked team this season. I could see them taking it against the Pats this post-season. I could also make a valid arguement for the Titans. If they get that offense going they could really go somewhere this season.

I really think that the Colts have a good chance of beating them if they met again. The game against the two was so close with the Pats winning it at the end.

How about "none of the above". They may lose a game in the regular season, but no one will touch them in the playoffs. They are just too talented, professional, experienced, well-coached, focused, and most of all, hungry to prove that they didn't win those super bowls by cheating. It's a done deal. Hand out the trophy and cancel the season.( haha, only kidding) EDIT - Believe Red Sox, I agree with your answer, but it's traitor, not trader. Come on now, don't make us look bad!
