In 1992, the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Atlanta Braves in 6 games. Becoming the first non- U.S. team to win the World Series.
In 1993, they defeated the Philedelphia Phillies in that famous 7 game series that ended with Joe Carter's walk off home run. They then became the first non U.S. team to win back to back World Series. And that record seems likely to stand for the next 50 years.

The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Atlanta Braves four games to two. Toronto won games 2, 3, 4, and 6, with game 6 being a thrilling 11-inning affair with eventual hall-of-famer Dave Winfield driving in the winning Toronto run.

The Atlanta Braves, who in 1995 became the second non-U.S. team to win a World Series.
That's a joke, but not as big a joke as the Braves became by having all those Division Titles but only the one World Series win, and not even a Pennant since 1999.
