Easy.. don't panic.

Just reinstall both of your hardware (sound card) and sound driver. And everything will be OK.

When you delete hardware ect... It does not show up in the recycle bin.

You most likely need to reinstall your sound card.
Go to add hardware in the control panel and follow the wizard, it should scan your computer and give you a list of hardware that is not installed. You may need a driver for it, or windows may have one that will work. If you need one it should be on a CD that came with your PC or you can download it from the internet.

Oh man I just did this to myself 2 day ago. I have a dell lap top and I just went on dell.com and spoke to someone online and the had to reinstall the sound device for me. I am not sure what kind of computer you have but go to their website and tell them what happened and they can reinstall it for you free of charge. I did not pay anything so you don't either. I had it working in about 20 minutes.

I hope its a Windows PC. If it is then
click on Start, then click Run
type "devmgmt.msc" without quotations
that will open Device Manager
check if you see any yellow '!' under Sound and Audio Devices.
If yes then try doing a Right Click and Click on Update Driver.
Follow instructions it might help.

If its a branded pc like HP, Sony, IBM, Compaq blah blah then call Customer Care for any further help.

Make sure your sound device is not on mute. Get new speakers. There should be a wire connecting to the monitor and one plugged to the speaker.

Corrupted drivers, go to start> programs, Accessories, Tools, and do a system restore. Try a week before this happened. It should take care of the problem.

You can try doing a system restore back to a date where you had sound. Otherwise you'll have to reinstall your audio drivers.
