My girlfriend works for a DR's office that has two location about 15 miles apart. She was hired to work in the location she is at of course. They told her that she will now be working at the other location and she does not want to, can they force her to?

Some of your answers were moderately accurate, though when someone asks a legal question, have a legitimate 'legal' answer.

I called the State Labor Board of Flroida and they informed me that relocation within 50 miles grants the employee no legal rights.

They can't force her to move. BUT they can move the job. It's technically her choice whether to keep the job or not.

They can its is only 15 miles apart. Let her go to the Human resources dept in the company and speak to them about the reason why she does not want to move to the other location. Perhaps it will be in her interest to move.

They can't force her to move.

She can't force them to keep her employed with them.

Plain and simple - if the only current opening is the other location, than that is all there is. She doesn't have to work for them.

I would suggest accepting the move, and look for another job.

Of course they can't force her to. Her option is to quit if she doesn't want to go to the other location. But they are totally within their rights to tell her than if she wants to continue working for them, she has to go to the other location.

15 miles is not that far. if she doesn't want to relocate she should probably look for another job.

If she works for an at will employer and they move the position (there choice) they can terminate her employment if she is not willing to move. Crappy, yes. Illegal, no.
