Who says? People were pretty ignorant generations ago, and anyone who would still say that today...just needs to be shot.

This is the first time I have heard it. I know that they are not "savage", or at least no more than any other race or colour. The idea of "savages" comes from not understanding another group and respecting their customs and beliefs. Sort of like "uncivilized", that word is an oxymoron since a civilization is a group of people living together.
