He/she has turned up at your house in the middle of the night. They always help you out when you are in need. Now it's your turn to return the favor. You must either;
a, Help them with cash so they can skip the country.
b, Give them a place to stay, so they can hide-out. Or
c, Turn them in to the cops.
What do you do?

I'd say 'C'.
This is because..i think the criminal thank you in years to come when they're free, and have paid the price of their crime..
Or..if they try to run, they get sent to jail for a further amount of time.
By turning him/her in, you are actually helping them, and they WILL thank you, when they are released.
Many people actually end up being grateful that a friend/family member turned them in, as they didn't wanna run, but didn't have the guts to turn themselves in.
(Or you couls tell the police that, you would only give out details of the culprit's location if they let them off on a suspended/reduced sentence..blackmail 'em :) )

There are soo many intangibles on this question, 1) had you ever pulled a stunt like this on them? (help & putting your friend in peril are 2 totally different things) 2) you do say its not rape or murder
(plenty of other very serious crimes) If they had been in the past a "good citizen" & "nobody harmed in the crime" I would try to talk them into turning themselves in, and give them 24 hrs. to make a move! WIN, LOSE, OR DRAW!!............LOL

I'm sorry but if it was very close family then i would have to find out what had happened and they would tell me the truth.
A. i have nowhere near the amount of money they would need to get out of the country
C. i don't know if i could live with turning them into the cops.
So my answer is B. but only till I could get to the bottom of the crime, get a good lawyer then go with them to cop shop.
clever question have a star :0) hope im never in that situation!!!!!!!!!!

I would hear out the circumstances first. If it was something like massacre a playground of children, or rape a child or something...no matter who they are, I'd have to hand them in.
If it was something like burglary or robbery or something, I would give them money (if they needed it at that point) and let them skip the country. Or alternatively if it was a close family member I would aid them further...
Blood is thicker than water as they say!

Well I couldn't do A because I have kids and whatever money I had couldn't be given away like that.
I couldn't do B because if they did get caught at MY HOUSE
I would be in trouble too. That wouldn't be cool.
I don't think I would turn them in either so I guess my answer would be D. which is nothing.
I know that may sound messed up but when you have kids you have to think of them first.

I might take option D, send them somewhere else and pretend I didn't see them. I have a security clearance to protect for my job and really hope nobody I care about puts me in that position. If D is not an option, I would have to go with C, but with an attorney.

depends on what the crime is...if it's somethin pety i'd let them in and we can sit and laugh about whatever stupid thing they just did. but if it was something big or harmed someone i would tell them to go away and pretend like you didnt just tell me that! but i really dont think i would turn them in unless it was rape or murder.
