If I got my period on the 19 of oct and then on the 11 of nov does that mean that I have a 24 day cycle. How does that work and if so when do I ovulate.

Your cycle that month was 23 days. You count the 19th as day 1, and the 10th as the last day, because your new cycle started again on the 11th (day 1 again). Nearly every woman ovulates 12-16 days (14 is average) BEFORE her next period, regardless of cycle length. So you likely ovulated that month around day 9 - which is pretty early for the average woman. But cycles can change from month to month so you can't be sure that you are ovulating at that time every month. If you want to know when you are ovulating, it's best to start keeping track of basal body temp. and cervical mucus. That will give you a better idea of what your cycle is doing each month, so you don't have to rely on info. from past months.

Your cycle is the number of days counted from the first day of your period from one month, to the next first day of your period of the next. So if you had your period on Oct 19, and you had your next Nov 11, then that would be 23 days.

Not everyone ovulates a week, or two after the first day of their period, some ovulate 3 weeks after..everyone's different. The best way to observe when you ovulate is either to use one of those ovulation predictors, or to notice light discharge any time past a week after your first day to figure out when you're ovulating, do that for 2 or 3 months to see if it's the same amount of time.

You count from the first day of your last cycle, to the first day of your next. That would be 23 days. Women typically ovulate 12-16 days before their next period. You can buy ovulation tests really cheap online that you give you about 24 hours notice of ovulation. I got mine at www.early-pregnancy-tests.com

Your period is supposed to start exactly 28 days from the first day of your last period. That's what they say anyway, mine isn't always as accurate as that. But it should be close.
