I guess mostly I need to vent. I'm 31 and have had nothing but problems with my pregnancy. I went through a lot of doctors and finally found one that I liked. I ended up having placenta previa - and I didn't even have a single risk factor for it.
I just found out that I'm full blown diabetic too. My doctor is dropping me and wants to send me to county (I'm on medicaid because I'm a student right now). I'm scared as hell because I have a feeling I'm going to need a c-section and I trusted my doctor. Now he's punting me to county. I told his nurse that I'm scared as hell to go to county and they'll "call me" .
Has anyone ever gone thru this? I'm scared as hell. Not only do i have 2 complications, but now i'm also dealing with type 2 the rest of my life.

Any words of advice would really be appreciated, and please only positive comments. I'm stressing out like crazy. Between all this, I have to finish my last semester in college and graduating finally :( pls help.

I had previa as well, with no risk factors for it too. It's really scary to have it, and what made it worse is that I worked with premature babies, and a couple had been born early because their mothers had previa. The only advice I can give you is to try and relax. Follow the doctors orders about not lifting things, not taking stairs, no sex, etc... and follow the appropritae diet due to diabetes.

Just know you are not alone in the frustration. I too had placenta previa and luckily it has moved. So you might be ok in that regard. My doctor said they usually do move. I have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and am now working on my diet and testing my blood. It has been rough. I can't eat a lot. Seems like I am eating eggs, meat, cheese, and veggies all day. I will be quite glad when this is done. But just remember everything you do is for your little baby. It will all be ok even if you have to have a c section. I agree with others too that maybe your doctor knows he has too full a schedule to properly deal with your complications. Maybe you will find a great county doctor. Just try to be positive and not stress out. Stress is hard on you and your baby. Sending best wishes your way.

Crazy as it might sound, it might be a good thing the doctor is dropping you. He may have a full case and wants you to have the attention you need. You never know, you might find a county doctor that is attentative to your needs.

The first thing you need to do is stop stressing. The baby can feel your stress. Try to eat right and healthy. I am not diabetic but have similar symptoms and my body doesn't break down carbs easily so I had to cut way back on breads and white rice (which is difficult because I'm asian and love rice) But it's doable and you'll be learning a better healthy diet for both you and your baby.

Best wishes and good luck

By the way, try this website www.ivillage.com. I've used it through my whole pregnancy and it's helped me a lot on any issues I've had.

I'm sorry you're going through all of this. Pregnancy is hard enough on our emotions without having to deal with complications. I too had previa early on. What kind is yours? If it's marginal or partial, there is a good chance it may move. I had marginal and 4 weeks after discovering it, the previa was gone. But if yours doesn't move, don't worry, it just means you'll have a scheduled c-section instead of a vaginal delivery. I can't really relate to the diabetes, but you'll pull through. Do exactly what you're told, and your pregnancy should be fine.

I have gestational diabetes and i HAD placenta pervia. Mine did move so there is a word of encouragement. They can move and they will check next ultra sound. But because of the diabetes i may have to still have a c-section. Everything will work out the way it is so post to. If ya need any one to talk to you can e-mail me. I am young. I was in college but left for a full time job. Good luck
