I don't think they will tear down Fenway. They have added new seats every season and will be doing so again this off season. I cant see it happening but, since I am not the owner, ya never know..lol.. I hope not though. But, if they did, I hope they would build something to hold a lot more people so more people could get tickets to some games.

Yeah. Wrigley Field already started to fall apart. If I remember correctly, they already had to put some nets on parts of the walls so that it wouldn't hurt anyone. Again, sorry if I am wrong. I'm not sure if they will be torn down, but at some point, the Cubs and the Red Sox won't be able to play at those ballparks and will have to play at new ballparks.

Sure they will ,, dont foget Fenway and Wrigley only have attendence of about 30 to 40 thougsand fans , Sox are lucky to have a rich owner , but the Cubs if thy dont get a very rich owner thet will not compete withy the larger market teams without large attendence money..

Probably yes. They are both older stadiums N will require a lot of work to bring them up to standard. There is a lot of history in both ball fields, But other Stadiums have managed to figure out a way to keep all that intact. Some fields chose to build around the artifacts without moving them while others moved them & created a place of honor for them.I love the older parks, but you need to move with the times. Rebilding a stadium does not mean all the history will be gone.

They most definitely will and one of the reasons that they will is escalating baseball salaries .Cubs fans who want A-Rod playing in Wrigley should realize that his signing would be the reason that Wrigley gets torn down
Do the math :Wrigley holds what ? 42000 butts and is usually sold out at around 95% capacity so there can't in increase in revenue from selling more seats
Build a new stadium which the Cook County taxpayer underwrites the cost of ;
Increase it's seating capacity by 12400 seats over Wrigley's and look at what happens;
12400* 81 games =1004400 new sources of revenue at an average ticket price of $40.00 =
$40,176,000 -Gee the Cubs can afford A-Rod

They were thinking of tearing down Fenway a couple years ago, but they just spent some cast on new seats above the Green Monster and near Yaykey (I know it's spelled wrong!) Way, so it'll be there for a little while longer.

St. Louis just got ripped off with the new stadium, and Busch Stadium was in better shape than either Fenway or Wrigley were. it was newer, and better looking (GO CARDS!)

At some point the owners will see that "out with the old and in with the new" will become economically advantageous over "historical and familiar" the more box offices, and bleacher seats the more the teams make. but they have to balance the public outcry for the loss of the historic with the demand for tickets. They will have to time it right to pull it off.

RANT:

And for them the best part is they scam the local community to pay to build it, give the owners tax breaks to owning it, and they don't have to give the locals that funded it any discount to visit! You got to love greasy politicians and public monies.

The suggestion has been made before that when the time comes, replicas of these stadiums be built. The guts -- locker rooms, et al -- can all be modernized but the rest of the stadium should be built just like the old ones. Maybe not a bad idea, huh?

Bulldoze Fenway, The Red Sox, Their Fans and while they are at it, the rest of Boston into the sea.

Geez, I hope not. The new Fenway park never happened because we got Manny, but I say leave it alone, if you don't like the park, don't go there.

EDIT--if they do rebuild it I would hope they would do something like they did with Camden Yards...BEAUTIFUL!!!
