This isn't about the person, it's about the position. If you were able to block the shot with your own body, would you?

Or would you just duck like me?

Why on Earth would I take a bullet for a man who (supposedly) has direct dialogue with God?
If what he says is true, he hasn't a worry in this life or after it.
I, on the other hand, have no interest in getting shot. I don't even believe in an afterlife. I'll be damned (pun intended) if I am going to risk the only life I have for someone who believes it is everlasting.
There are certain people that I would take bullets for, but the Pope sure as hell (pun intended) is not one of them.

No the Pope isn't any greater advantageous than Peter from now on than Peter is larger than the Pope. the region of the Pope is greater complicated. in case you're taking it from the ingredient that the Pope is keeping 2 places of work: Political and non secular then you definately will understand the will for the armed protection alongside with the bullet evidence vehicle he makes use of. The Pope is the non secular head of the Catholic congregation whilst on the comparable time he doubles up because of fact the top of thr Vatican State. This final workplace demands him to have the protection you notice him having.

I would never, by choice, be near enough to the Pope for the issue to come up, but if I somehow was that close to him through no plans of my own and I heard shots or saw a gunman, I would duck. I would scream a warning if I saw a gunman before hearing shots, but I would definitely duck.

Duck, cower, jump behind the old guy, hide in the bushes, toss the man out of the Popemobile......

So, no I would not take a bullet for the Pope - my kids, yes. My husband, maybe. The Pope - nope.

I would take it for a person but not for the position. Although if it's not a fatal shot saving the pope seems like a pretty good publicity image to have...

I would duck, it is the position that is of significance not the person, if the person is shot , there will always be another pope.

now i would have taken a bullet for Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King or even Nelson Mandela

I would most certainly duck and cover and bail. Pope is another one of those people in the world telling us how to live as if their freaking cult doesnt hold enough child molesters. I hate all relegion and its followers.

The pope is a person, where in the bible does it say to pray to a man who is elected by other men to run a religion?

my answer is not only no, but hell no. I have very strong feelings against catholicism from an "administrative" level. Nothing against the followers or most of the teachings, they are merely looking for salvation.

Ha, I'd duck for sure. He'd have the best medical care he could get, just like any other person in power would have. I'd just get stuck with a million dollars worth of medical bills that my health insurance wouldn't cover because I "did it to myself".

Yes. Think about it. Just say we're not talking about the Pope. He's an elderly man. Would you help a blind elderly lady accross the street? Would you want someone to take a bullet for you if they could? That's just my personal opinion.
