If the governor of your state ran for President of the United States of America, would you vote for him or her? Why or why not?

If you do live in Michigan or California, your governor (Jennifer Granholm or Arnold Schwarzenegger) cannot run for President since they were born outside the United States (Granholm was born in Canada and Schwarzenegger was born in Austria), but if Granholm and Schwarzenegger were elgible to run for President, would you vote for them?

I'm from Michigan and I agree with the other two answers about our governor. There's no way on God's green earth I'd vote her in as president..I didn't even want her as our governor! She's done nothing but ruin our economy here in Michigan and drag our state through the mud..it's an embarrassment to have her as our governor. I have reason to believe the only reason she won another term was because of her promises and focus on the Detroit area and naturally, there's more people in that area than where i'm from in Northern Michigan, so their votes definately out-numbered ours up north! She doesn't realize there's more to the state of Michigan than Detroit and she's ruining our state. Check out the classifieds sometime..there are so many homes on the market from people who are moving out of the state. That's sad. And the construction that takes place in our state is absolutely ridiculous! With the money she's wasting fixing highways that don't need it yet, our state could have alot more funds available. Shame on her incompetence. I wouldn't wish her on anyone, especially a whole country!!!

I live in Michigan, thank god that Granholm cannot run for President. Either way, I would not vote for her.
Reasons:
Michigan has the worst economy in the country, is in a recession and is not improving.
Granholm has gone back on her campaign promises and just forced the State to raise taxes, which thankfully has been repealed, but will now send the State into another probable budget related shut-down.
Granholm has accomplished nothing. She claims to have brought jobs to Michigan when in fact, the companies she claims to have brought here, were already here! She's simply a liar.
I could go on and on, but I simply don't have the time. Granholm is terrible and Michigan is on a crash course for serious trouble!

I know my governor personally here in Georgia. I voted for him as governor and he's done a good job. But he is a complete *** so no way would I vote to give him the most powerful job in the world.... I would vote for Arnold if he could run but from what I hear out of Michigan Granholm is a joke....

It's a very good thing that jennifer granholm cannot run for president, cause i sure as hell wouldn't vote for her!! Considering the job she's done here in Michigan, she would put the U.S in another depression, and send business' running for the hills. And we still have 3 more years of this to put up with from her:(

I live in GA, so no, I wouldn't vote for my governor as President. I disagree with the other poster from GA. Sonny Perdue is an embarrasment to those in the south that would like to escape some of the more rural sterotypes associated with our region. Praying on the capital steps for rain? Keeping kids out of school to save gas? Give me a break.

No. Haley Barbour made his money as founder of the largest lobbying firm in Washington, then was the chairman of the RNC, then ran for Governor at the request of the neocons over a very popular Governor, Ronnie Musgrove and won in the most expensive campaign in the history of the state of Mississippi, then just got re-elected in a campaign based on taking credit for the good things Musgrove did and how terrible things were when he came in, which was bull. I will give him one bit of credit, he did do a good job after Katrina.

I live in Florida, Charlie Crist ...no experience.....

I vote for people because of the position they take on important issue. Not where they are from, what sex, color, or religion they may be....

I would not vote for Arnold or Granholm as I don't believe they have what it takes to be president.

My governor is not running but my senator is. No I will not vote for him(Obama). I do not agree with him on illegal immigration. He voted to give illegals SS benefits while serving in ILL. even tho they had not paid into the system. He voted for the Dream Act and the Amnesty bill. He says he wants to help middle Americans so how does giving a free pass to illegals help them? Just one instance of him saying one thing and doing another.

Never, even if she were the only name on the ticket. She would be a fish out of water in D.C. I guess God wants her to be in Alaska. Keep her out of the loop. Live in a world that is far away from the bigger share of civilization, and reality. God didn't show her the way the first time around, why would that change.

I don't know enough about either governor to say yes or no.

Mitt Romney was governor of my state and is running for President. I would never vote for him as he was terrible and ineffective here. He also lied on a critical issue. (It's less of a critical issue on the national level.) He kept government closed to the people and abandoned his job when he decided to run for President. I can't name one good thing he did while governor. Even if I could, I don't know what the costs were (what did he give away?).

I like Dennis Kucinich. Dream ticket: Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul (humanity with conservatism)
