Is International Affairs similar to studying Regional Geography?...
I wanted to study Regional Geography, concentrate on Italy's affairs with us (U.S), work for the govt. but I am sacrificing majoring in Geography to go to my dream school, even though it does not offer Geography, but I figured International Affairs is similar, as both have a little Political Science; history; anthropology; Geography; culture, in them *and can be a diplomat as a career when graduated. But is this true or what?..Deep down inside I'd love to say Geography is my major, but a sacrifice had to be made, I've concentrated on getting credits transfered to this school, *I don't want to go back to square one again.

I think studying International Affairs would be a better choice if career is what you are after.

International Affairs

Among the Elliott School's graduates are many distinguished American diplomats, including several former ambassadors; several members of Congress; a former chairman and a former vice-chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as well as chiefs-of-staff of the Army and Air Force and a commandant of the Marine Corps. In the business arena, our alumni include the president of Merrill Lynch International. Other alumni hold key positions at the United Nations, World Bank, and other international organizations
