This may seem odd, but, it's only because I study geography alone that I feel the need to ask this. I have no geography friends :( and I try to talk to my friends about geography but they get bored and start to whine *shakes fist* haha
Basically, I just want to hear why you love geography, I always find myself sitting there thinking about how great it is in my lessons, and how I'd love to share with others those moments when it all just clicks and the world makes sense, or when you see problems and really want to change them.
So, my question is why go you like geography? (if you do)
It's purely for my personal interest.
Haha and I wonder why my friends roll their eyes at me...
Actually, any subject really is interesting to discover why people enjoy it. So I am going to throw another question out there (oh yes) why do you like your favorite subject?

When I temped for the Geography Department at UC Berkeley, I grew quite fond of the field.

The people were all lovely people, and so interesting.

I learned that everything to do with the Earth is what geography is about. Physical geography, natural history, biology, climatology, and on and on -- each of which is fascinating. And Cultural, with anthropology, politics, sociology, history, and on and on.

I love fields where lots of specialty fields come together.

Another favorite subject of mine is psychology. I mean, come ON: what are we really like? Why are we the way we are? Hard to beat THAT!

I bet you could find the community of geography lovers you long for on-line. That's part of the beauty of the net. You can discuss your interests with those who share your passion -- even if no one in your physical environment does.

I urge you to find some discussion sites that focus on geography. And, given than you know you love this field, I hope you go to college and continue your studies. You'll love it because the professors and other geography majors all feel about it the way you do.

That would be hecka fun for you, and you can devote your working life to doing that which you most love.
