I LOVE The Band-- they are amazing. Some of my favorite songs are: Across the Great Divide, Carnival, Don't Do It, The Night They Drove Old Dixy Down, Stagefright, Up on Cripple Creek, and obviously, The Weight.
If you haven't already (but you most likley have) , check out The Last Waltz. Watch it really loud. Oh man, it is so amazing. I love when Neil Young sings "Helpless" with Joanie Mitchell backing him on vocals and The Band takin' over guitar, bass, and drums.
The Last Waltz was held on Thanksgiving Day in San Fransico at Winterland. Tickets were $25 and included and full Thanksgiving dinner, a classical dance, and then performances by: The Band, Ringo Starr, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Staple Singers, Muddy Waters, Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, and more. They played for over 5 hours. Amazing.

"Acadian Driftwood", "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" & "Up On Cripple Creek"are my favorites... but I also love "The Weight", "Chest Fever", "Rag, Mama, Rag"... they were one hell of a Band! I lived in residence at college with Robbie Robertson's daughter... she's gorgeous.
