Have you ever had an affair?

"Yes. And that's how I knew I didn't love my husband. So I divorced him. Never thought I'd something like that (sigh)"

"Yes and it was wonderful."

Those are just two answers to a Q&A on Yahoo. When I hear stuff like that it just racks my brain. I just start asking a million question about people. Their are just so many things that are hard to comprehend. Especially from the first reponse. How important is the way you treat your spouse or partner?

For over all karma in your life, the way you treat a significant other how much does it say about you as person? And does it effect your lifes karma?

Never take your relationship for granted no matter how long you have been together. It is important to be good to your partner every day.If you are married think of the words to your vows.It pretty much sums it all up.If you are living common law I would think you would expect the same even if you didn't have it formalized in a ceremony.Respect each other , learn how to forgive and try to do your best each day.Good relationships don't just happen and sometimes people just throw in the towel because they hit a speed bump. You shouldn't stay in a bad relationship though.(abusive ,loveless or selfish etc). Try counceling if needed, but even that requires a commitment from both parties. For those repondents who said they were glad they cheated perhaps they are only trying to validate their own infidelity.Love is not like in the movies and sometimes people forget a lot of daily life is made of repetative actions. It is up to the couple to keep the spark alive not a one night stand.

I don't know much about Karma, but we've all learned the Golden Rule when we were children. Unfortunately, the world isn't perfect and neither are humans. Everyone has different morals and beliefs, some just like doing the wrong thing, and others make mistakes from bad judgement. All we can do is treat our spouses the way we would want to be treated, but understand that there is no guarantee that, that will happen.

I don't feel a lot of people take their vows seriously. Another thing is if you have a feeling you want to have an affair, why don't you go through the appropriate actions to get a divorce and move on. Some people do not show enough respect to one another to not have an affair. People fly by the seat of their pants not considering the consequences it causes to the other person and/or family (children). Sometimes I feel people are selfish in the way they handle others. You would not want it done to you, so don't do it to others.

I honestly think that there are two types of people: people who can cheat and people who can't. Thankfully I fall into the second category. I cheated ONE time in high school and have never repeated it. I hated the way it made me feel and NEVER want to feel that way again.

People that cheat are missing MANY things in their lives. They are missing good judgment, morals, values, self respect, respect for other human beings, communication skills, self control...I could go on and on.

Don't kill yourself trying to figure people out. One thing that helps me when I hear of people like this is that I am a FIRM believer in karma and I have faith that it will come back around...

The way you treat Everyone affects your Karma. We live in such a disposable world nowadays, and it is sad how marriage isn't viewed as a sacred thing. When it gets too hard, we throw it away. When we get bored it is ok to cheat. Respecting and honoring THE ONE YOU CHOSE TO SPEND YOUR LIFE with is so important. With all the fads and old things coming back in style, I wish that Loyalty and Honor would make a huge splash again.

Every marriage has problems, but I believe there are other alternatives than going out and having an affair. I've been with my wife for over 10 years and havn't considered cheating on her because I know what it's like to be on the otherside. I had 2 ex-girlfriends that cheated on me.

I personally have never cheated and will never. I treat my husband like a God and he treats me the same.

Negativity creates negativity.
