So as I'm sure everyone has heard by now, they've finally take the first steps to implement instant replay in major league baseball. I've always been against it, however, I think I can handle it being used for what it's been approved to review. I'm ok with them reviewing whether a ball was a homerun or not, so long as it doesn't take the kind of time it requires in football. What I DON'T like about this change is something they're now considering to help avoid too much delay now that instant replay will be introduced. GMs have raised the possibility of allowing fewer visits to the mound and limiting the number of people who visit the mound. Are you kidding me? That's what I'm worried about with the whole instant replay thing. It comes into the picture, and other things must exit. Baseball has been fine the way it is. What does everyone think about it?

I guess I'm old school Diane. I've never been a fan of the DH. I'm not so sure inter league play is the best thing for baseball and I'm a great believer in leaving the calls to the umpires. Amazingly their accuracy percentage is extremely high. Probably greater than any other sport.

I agree with you. The game is perfect just the way it is.

The whole point of the replay isn't for reversing everything. The replay is to determine whether it is infact a homerun or foulball and if the ball hit the top of the wall and should be a homerun. I have seen a bunch of wrong calls especially when umps are no farther then about 20 feet and still can't make a correct call on whether it is a homerun or stayed in the park.

I totally disagree with instant replay in baseball... In my opinion baseball has always been great over the years because they generally leave the game alone... they don't make changes to the rules very often at all. Making this change to allow instant replay is just ridiculous... also I love seeing players and managers argue with the umps... now whenever somebody starts arguing they can just watch the replay... wow... that takes all the fun out of arguing... also they always complain about the game being too long... with replays it will just get longer... BOO FOR INSTANT REPLAYS

This is a huge mistake. I'm a purist. I don't want baseball to change. It's fun to ***** about bad calls and to get a bad call in your favor once in a while. It's just part of baseball.

They should leave this sport alone. We already have one NFL - let's not turn baseball into another one.

I don't see a BIG need for it, but sometimes it will definitely be beneficial. The only thing I am worried about is baseball can be quite boring and long the way it is. Taking timeouts for replays won't help that matter.

I think replay should be used at least on a limited basis like foulballs that can be possible homeruns is a big example.

They want to make the sport simpler for retards to be able to follow. I'm surprised they don't try a neon orange baseball and move the fences in to 200ft.
