men are concerned about it because they have their doodles to play with all the time and when we get into trouble (it wont work haha)
everyone says "its normal, its ok, blah blah"
but really.... it happens... but it makes the chick feel as bad as the guy because they think "he mustn't be sexually attracted to me" and that's where the problems start because no one wants to discuss it because its embarrassing.
erectile dysfunction can lead onto bigger problems.
some people cant use Viagra and certain medications because they interfere with the other medications.
i know someone who cant take Viagra because it messes with his blood pressure pills and they both wont work (or death related issues ha ha). and its more important to live than to get a shag.

I think the range you've posted is for bio-available testosterone not total testosterone. In any case each man is different and the hormone levels change on an hourly basis - so "normal" levels for a guy in his 50's could be all over the place. If the hormone levels is consistently in the very low or abnormally low range, then hormone replacement therapy is a possibility. If testosterone levels are normal, and a man is suffering from ED you might look for an organic cause like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes etc. and start treating that. Medications, especially antidepressants can also cause ED. Psychological problems may also play a huge role in ED. Sometimes counseling is in order. In any case a check up from the Dr. is in order. If a man is capable of sexual arousal (and that part is important) then Viagra or a similar drug will help, but you have to learn how to use it through experimentation. The main thing about ED is that the VAST majority of men with ED can be treated successfully.

It's part of being a man. I briefly had ED due to hydroceles, the male equivilent of ovarian cysts. They are large and painful, put pressure on the prostate and also interfere with urination. A week after I had the surgery for removal, everything was fine. I never had thought about it, but the first morning I woke up erect I thought "Wow! I missed this and it used to be so annoying!"

I guess, to adopt and accept an issue people have to be more open to suggestions and other experiences. People for the most part do not always want ot give that a try! And well, to keep a relationship going, "HAPPY SEX" is vital to its life force! Nobody wants that stail factor to grant them under the sheets! As for Serotonin, if you do not know what it is, give Wikipedia.com a looksy! Well this is my thought weather incorrect or right! Hope it helps!!!

First of all, you're presuming that many people today have any idea what HG Wells and Huxley were, and second, your assumption that ED is an issue only to men is totally incorrect. The fact is that it is more important to women than it is to men. Think about it.

Fran, I'm not quite sure what you mean by Huxley and Wells- that they (nonfunctioning men) be put out to pasture or euthanized? Or replaced by new studs?
Most ED is caused by alcohol and/or tobacco, or poor cardiovascular condition. Get some exercise, stop smoking and drink in moderation, and Viagra is unnecessary.

Because erectile dysfunction affects their sex life.
One thing, I am so weary of seeing the heterosexual ads on TV regarding ED. I wish it was a day and age when they would include gay men in the ads and not just heterosexuals. I am sure it affects gay men too and they are very important also. But then, society in general has to make it all about the heteros. I read more and watch less TV. The over-exposure of the heteros gets quite annoying. Very one-sided. I don't listen anymore and it works better for me. :)

Well, I can explain why men are so concerned. It's because without function, we are sexually incapable. That tends to irk females, who tend to react as if it has to do with the man not being attracted to them or the man being less of a man. Contrary to popular female opinion, men are very concerned with what women think of them and we value being favorably judged by women.
It's kind of like why would a woman be concerned with the size of her butt or breasts? Why do they get implants? Why are they concerned with their tightness after giving birth? Male and female sexual function is very important to people.
