Home is usually very quiet, unless I go out in the garage where my husband is listening to 2 radios and watching golf at the same time. I don't understand how he can do that. It drives me SO nuts. My bedroom is the most peaceful place, where I turn on the Food Channel, Discovery Health or Forensic Files.
But I'd trade in some of that peace and quiet for a couple little kids running around the house.

My children are sometimes all gone at the same time on a weekend- to dad's, friends or a relatives and I revel in the alone time! No TV, no music for at least part of the day and I just feel the tension loosen in the silence- plus I get to hear myself think!

You must know about the pond. The area surrounding my home is surrounded by traffic. Even with the traffic, the pond is peaceful. The ducks, geese, birds, and animals are there. My dog and I go sit in the parking lot and watch the pond and all that visit. That is my spiritual place.
